The Bibliotheca Alexandrina hosts the second edition of Tale of Two Cities, in collaboration with Art D’Égypte.  This exhibition explores the cultural and historical ties between Alexandria and Athens through the works of Egyptian and Greek artists.

Dr. Ahmed Zayed, Director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, emphasized the strong bonds between the two cities, reflected in their cultural heritage and art. Nadine Abdel Ghaffar, Founder of Art D’Égypte, highlighted this project as a tribute to Alexandria’s rich history and ongoing cultural dialogue with Athens.

A key highlight is Jean Boghossian’s Phoenix series (Saved Books sculptures) where burned books are transformed into symbols of cultural rebirth. Other featured artists include Omar Toussoun, Said Badr, Esméralda Kosmatopoulos, and Hassan Ragab.

The exhibition is open from October 15 to November 4, with artworks displayed throughout the Bibliotheca, including the outdoor Plaza of Civilizations.
