FIRE Exhibition in Brussels

As part of the landmark exhibition FIRE, Jean Boghossian presents a powerful body of work in which flame, smoke, and burn marks become instruments of creation.

From canvases bearing the traces of fire’s passage to drawers filled with vibrant, scorched, and smoke-infused works on paper, the artist reveals his ongoing dialogue with the element that defines his practice.

Through this installation, Boghossian invites us to contemplate fire not as destruction, but as a source of energy, transformation, and beauty.

The exhibition explores the creative potential of combustion and the tension between control and chance — a balance central to Boghossian’s art. His use of fire transcends technique to become an expressive language, one that embodies both the fragility and the resilience of matter.

FIRE is on view at the Boghossian Foundation – Villa Empain in Brussels, curated by Louma Salamé, and will remain open until 1 March 2026.
