Jean Boghossian at Freedom Recalled in Beirut

We are pleased to share that Jean Boghossian is currently featured in Freedom Recalled, a group exhibition at Beit Beirut that brings together artists whose works reflect on the complexities of collective memory. The show examines the fragile links between remembrance, justice, and liberation in societies marked by injustice, inviting viewers to consider how memory can become a tool for accountability—and how the act of recalling may itself be an act of freedom.

Within this thoughtful curatorial dialogue, Jean Boghossian’s fire and smoke works stand as powerful expressions of resilience. By transforming the destructive force of flame into contemplative gestures of renewal, his practice echoes the exhibition’s central themes: the tension between erasure and survival, and the transformative potential of remembering.

The opening reception took place on 28 November 2025, gathering visitors, artists, and the Beirut cultural community for an evening of reflection and exchange.

The exhibition remains on view until 11 January 2026, and can be visited Wednesday to Sunday, from 12 PM to 8 PM at Beit Beirut.
